Prérequis	Adult lessons: All children under 5 cannot participate and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying persons must also have an admission ticket. You can book the course in English and French. Family experience: To participate in the family workshop, it is imperative to compose at least a group of one adult with one child. No more than two children per adult. All children must be between 5 and 12 years old. If you do not meet one of these conditions, your access to the family workshop may be refused. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, Galeries Lafayette reserves the right to cancel the course. In this case, you will be refunded the full amount paid. You can cancel on your behalf, free of charge, up to 48 hours in advance. After this time, the total amount of the lesson will be invoiced. We invite you to show up 5-10min before the activity, in case of delay of more than 10min, access to the activity will unfortunately be refused. Informations importantes	Cours adultes : Tous les enfants de moins de 5 ans ne peuvent pas participer et les moins de 16 ans doivent être accompagnés d'un adulte. Expérience famille : Pour participer à l'atelier famille, il est impératif de composer au minimum un groupe d'un adulte avec un enfant. Pas plus de deux enfants par adulte. Vraiment horrible.
C'est la pire expérience que nous avons eu.
On a du mal a trouver l'endroit. J'ai téléphoné 3 fois. Finalement l'atelier été en anglais. Je n'ai me rappelé pas voir lors de réservation anglais. Je suis sûre que j'ai choisi en français.
La personne au téléphone m'avait fait sentir stupide..en me disant mais, oui vous avez pas vu. Alors il n'y a aucun intérêt pour moi choisir un atelier en anglais.
J'ai envoyé un email pour demander de l'aide pour obtenir le remboursement. Personne n'a pris la peine de me répondre.
Je trouve çà vraiment dommage. Au vu de lieu, je m'attendais a un autre niveau.
La consergierie m'avait dit, nous on rien faire, appel le numéro sur le billet.
Vraiment desservant.
Je ne recommande absolument pas ce atelier.

Je garde l'espoir que events va revenir vers moi et me proposer un remboursement. Ce sera très digne de votre part.

Nous avons adoré notre atelier avec Rania qui a été très patiente et nous a très bien expliqué les astuces pour réussir de bons macarons, cependant nous aurions aimé apprendre à réaliser notre macaronage nous-mêmes.
Nous avons été aussi étonné que l’adulte accompagnant l’enfant ne puisse pas faire ses macarons lui-même tout en payant le prix normal de l’atelier. Notre fille de 9 ans était capable de faire presque tout sans mon aide.
Je recommanderais de faire payer uniquement l’adulte accompagnant.

This is a great little class and it is just the right amount of time. We researched many other options before selecting this class. Most of the others were 3 hours and 3 times (or more) the price. We were a bit skeptical because the cost was so much less, and it is located in a department store (Galleries Lafayette), but I relied on the reviews. I am SO GLAD we selected this class. It takes place in a quiet room on the third floor of the store. It is a nicely appointed, modern event space with a kitchen (clean, light, airy and updated with a lounge area as well) and the pastry chef was lovely (and speaks fluent English). The class is 1.5 hours long and you learn to make the cookies and fillings with instruction up front and hands on practice making your own as well. They have pre-baked macaroons available so that you don't need to wait for your batch to bake and cool before filling and tasting! You do see your batch come out of the oven, and you get to taste them, but you don't use those for the actual macaroons that you fill and take home.
The fact that it is in the Galleries Lafayette worked out great for us as well. Not only is it an easy ride on the Metro (stop is right in front), but we got a chance to browse around the store after the class and do a bit of shopping before heading out to see the Opera building (across the street) and grab lunch in the area. It made for a great 1/2 day.

Side note: It takes a bit of time to find the actual location, so just plan to arrive 15 minutes before class. The store opens at 9:30 am most days, but when we arrived for our 10:00 am class, the Galleries Lafayette doors were still closed -- turns out that there was an unusual delayed opening that day (our luck). So our class started 30 minutes late at 10:30 instead of the planned 10:00am. Despite the confusion upfront and slightly shorter class, we still really enjoyed it. And, we realized that a 3 hour class would have been much too long for us to sit through for macaroon making.

Update: Due to the delayed start, the Galleries Lafayette actually refunded our class fees. Wow. That was not expected! Just goes to show you what great customer service they have as well.
